Acne Skin Care Products – an Overview 

It is indeed a major inconvenience to suffer from acne – and sometimes people are willing to pay for expensive skin care items and surgical treatments just to make the acne go away. But what about those of us who suffer just as much, and don’t have the money or the superstar lifestyle to sustain that sort of acne relief? You don’t always have to buy signature skin care brands to experience relief from acne – there are some acne skin care products available over the counter that fall well within a reasonable budget.

A lot of acne skin care products use all-natural components so as not to further irritate the skin. Benzoyl peroxide is a vital component in some signature skin care products, such as Clearasil, Benzac and Benoxyl. What it does is to unplug pores, releasing the toxins that cause acne.

Alphahydroxy acid does its work by drying up blemishes and causing the top layer of the skin to peel. Many brands of sunscreens, eye creams, cleansers and moisturizers use alphahydroxy acid.

Of course, when using these acne skin care products, you should speed up the healing process by keeping a steady eye on your habits and diet. Avoid fatty foods, processed foods, nuts, and foods packed with iodine. Opt for sea salt rather than the more commercially available iodized salt. Remember to get plenty of sleep and to reduce your caffeine intake. You might be surprised how well a healthy diet and enough regular sleeping hours can do wonders for your skin – even without the use of over-the-counter remedies!

How to Eliminate Dry Skin Naturally

Everyone wants smooth, glowing beautiful skin! How many of us can say that we actually posses it? We purchase countless products, undergo expensive treatments and still suffer with dry, flaky or ‘ashy’ skin. In order to see a long lasting change, you must examine your lifestyle. Take time to consider what impact your diet, sleeping habits, activity and skin care routine have on your skin.

1. Be sure to include fresh fruit, nutritious vegetables, whole grains and clean water in your daily diet. Your skin is a living organ. Give it what is needed to stay healthy.

2. Start the day with invigorating stretches. Learn basic yoga and practice it for 10-30 minutes each morning.

3. Cleanse your skin with cold-processed soaps. They contain plant oils that nourish the skin cells. Avoid products with Sodium Laurel Sulfate or other harsh detergents.

6. Monitor the water temperature when bathing, extremely hot temperatures can be drying as well.
7. Use proper sun protection and limit your exposure to direct sunlight.

8. Retire by 10:00 pm each evening. This allows your body time to heal itself and restore all organ systems. In turn, promoting good skin health.

By following this holistic approach you should experience a significant difference in the health of your skin.

Overlooked Antiaging Skin Care Agents

I do not completely agree that we cannot do anything about chronological aging. The fact that people who have healthy lifestyle habits tend to look better and live longer than those who do not, tells us that we can cooperate with our body’s natural healing and repair process. This will help to delay chronological aging.

If photoaging is caused by UVR, how could the sunlight be an overlooked antiaging skin care agent? The answer lies in the realization that sunlight itself is not bad for the skin, overexposure is.

Plasma resurfacing is a relatively new technology that delivers plasma, a high energy ionized gas, through the epidermis into the deeper layers of the skin where collagen production is stimulated. Indeed, CO2 lasers, erbium lasers and plasma devices can deliver dramatic results in a fractional, ablative or non-ablative manner with downtime inversely correlated to the number of treatments needed.

Skin Tightening

Skin tightening will further enhance the effects of skin resurfacing and are built in with CO2 laser treatments. When length of healing is a concern, radiofrequency can be used to tighten the skin, albeit the results may not be as reliable or long lasting.

Skin Luminosity – Brown, Sun, and Age Spots Treatment

Luminosity of the skin has been shown to directly correlate with a youthful appearance. Most rejuvenation plans therefore incorporate removal of brown/age/sun spots. If downtime with CO2 or erbium laser resurfacing are unacceptable, treatments including a range of laser or non-laser intense pulsed light sources (IPL) may be chosen. Many skin problems of adulthood, such as fine lines, blotchiness, age spots (liver spots, dark spots), surface roughness, wrinkles, and dull, lifeless skin, can be attributed to sun exposure. The unique ability of specific lasers and IPL to specifically target pigment in the skin results in safe, effective and rapid treatment of unsightly skin lesions that have brown pigmentation.
